Marmite and Snooker

Yesterday, the Baxter family cat, Marmite, had to be rushed to the 24-h vet. I take credit for first noticing his distress. He is young and very skinny, especially to me being used to "Fat Man". He was having troubles breathing- it sounded like he was all clogged up. Neil and I took him in after some misadventures while trying to administer oral amoxicillin in the belief that he had a respiratory tract infection...
He was kept over night, x-rayed, and eventually had 500ml of fluid removed from a lung abcess which was causing his trouble.
After the vet (but before the diagnosis) Neil and I met Pop at the Liberal Club- a gentlemen's snooker hall. I played poorly, had a great time, and came home smelling of smoke.

Sarah

Hey all, I just thought I'd throw up a picture of my sister, who is spending the year in Avignon, France on exchange. She's up here in Manchester over the holidays too, relishing in the "shopping culture" ;)

Tonight we're all out for Chinese food and some pints. All in all a very good time.

Arrival in England

Oak Bay: 1 car, 1 bus, 1 ferry, 1 coach, 1 airplane, 2 tube trains, 1 overland train, 1 car : Salford (Manchester)

The trip so far has gone increadibly smoothly-no delays, and honestly good food on the airplane. I am in Manchester until the 1st, then back down to London before I fly out on the 2nd. Auntie Carol and I went for a power walk in the English rain early this morning and visited Pop and Christine. Today, Sarah and I went and wandered around (unfortunately the shops) downtown. Rainy and cold and I love it.
